"Come along, girls," she calles. "Don't dawdle."
"Dawdle? I can barely brathe from trudging up this hill at a gallop!" Felicity sniffs.
Dawdle-
1. to waste time; idle; trifle; loiter
2. to move slowly, laguidly, or dilatorily
So I found the word kind of funny and I didn't know what it meant so I looked it up. And thats what it meant, I guess there's another word to use. :)

Dawdle means to become distracted by something that slows you down. My grandma uses it sometimes. I think it's one of those words that's kind of died out over time. I think it's kind of been replaced by distracted or procrastinate. Either way, it's definately not used very commonly any more.
ReplyDeleteLol @Danielle's comment.
ReplyDeleteYeah I never heard of that word, but because this book was written back in the day then I guess the english language changed overtime.
